Since 2011, the King Abdullah II Fund for Development has chosen Maysalward to manage several grassroots activities to support and cultivate the local gaming community. These include boot camps, developer events, and an annual gaming summit. Maysalward also manages the Jordan Gaming lab in different Jordanian cities: Amman, Irbid, Aqaba and Maan, and Karak Zarqa.
In addition, Maysalward has been running the App Challenge, a semi-annual event that invites 14 to 16-year-old school students to develop mobile games. The App Challenge provides participants with coding, storytelling and game design training, and has to date trained over 4000+ students.
Maysalward has recently been working on incorporating gamification and interactive content into its offerings. The company has partnered with the Jordan Children’s Museum and The Royal Tank Museum to develop edutainment games and interactive content for museum visitors. It has also created augmented reality applications with Adam Wa Mishmish books and interactive health awareness games with the Jordan Health Association.
In April 2020, Maysalward joined The World Health Organization (WHO) and leading gaming studios and publisher around the world in launching #PlayApartTogether to promote physical distancing during COVID-19 through games. [Read more: link1 link 2]
In June 2020, Maysalard became part of the International Game Developers Association (IGDA) Special Interest Group (SIG) to help Indie game developers around the world throughout COVID-19 difficulty time.
And since November 2020, Maysalward became an official member of the Women’s Empowerment Principles WEP’s global list of signatories.
